Feb 22 from 3-5pm @ MetroSouth Medical Center, Blue Island

Jim Craig, known for his outstanding goaltending in the 1980 winter Olympics when the U.S. beat the heavily favored Russians for the gold in “the greatest sports moment of the 20th century” will be making an appearance in Blue Island on Feb. 22.

Some remember him with the American flag draped on his shoulders. Just before that win his mother died of bone cancer. As soon as he won the gold, he was scanning the crowd for his dad. Millions watched with tears in their eyes as he reached out to him. Then, eight years later, his father died suddenly of an abdominal aortic aneurysm, or AAA, which is a bulge in the aorta that, without treatment, can burst. Jim is part of a public service campaign for AAA and he is in town to spread the word about prevention for AAA, which is often called the silent killer, and to discuss the importance of regular screenings for those who have a family history of the condition.

He will be doing free screenings in Chicago at MetroSouth Medical Center, Blue Island on Feb. 22, 3 to 5 p.m. WE ARE ENCOURAGING ALL HOCKEY LOVERS TO COME AND MEET HIM AND GET HIS AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOS!!!
