Checking clinics will feature the following concepts:

• Proper balance and stance in order to receive a check and give a check.
• Using the boards to brace yourself when being checked.
• Proper angles to use when checking.
• Proper technique to give and receive a check:
  • Hands and sticks down!
  • Keeping head up and not ducking or leaning into the boards.

This clinic is recommended for all bantams and second year pee wees.  Players will be paired up by size when checking.

Cost of the clinic is $50 per player, $25 to repeat clinic if a player previously completed a St. Jude checking clinic.

Registration fee covers participation in all clinics offered; players must participate in at least one.

This clinic is for the player that has completed St. Jude's Little Knights Learn to Play program or another ADM program and is ready to progress to team-play in the spring season.  This clinic will prepare players for elements of full-ice play such as off-sides, line-ups, shift changes, rules, etc... while also building their endurance and stamina.

• 4 full-ice skates
• For birth year 2015 through 2012 players who have never played on an organized team.
• The class will meet on the following days at Southwest Ice Arena (SIA).

Cost is $50 per player

FUN! FUN! FUN!  This Spring take a break from clinics and structured skates and enjoy the benefits of fast-paced 3-on-3 half-ice games where the primary emphasis is on having fun.   This recreational program will allow players to mix up their positions and work on their small ice game in a fun environment.

• Spring 3-on-3 is being offered for Mite through Bantam players, based on Winter 2022 season age brackets, plus 2016's.
• There will be 3 levels of play, and 4 teams per level, so space is limited.
• Teams will be assigned with balanced abilities.  Teams will be assigned by Tom Stanislavski, Tony Dinnocenzo, Mike Smolen and John Harkins.
• Players will register as individuals.
• Each team will play sixteen 25-minute games on Monday and Wednesday from March 21st and April 13th. Each game day will consist of two games played back-to-back.  Games will be played half-ice with two games taking place simultaneously

Cost is $100 per skater, $50 per goalie.

Group 1 -Birth Year 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016

Group 2 - Birth Year 2010, 2011 & 2012

Group 3 - Birth Year 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009

Group 1 will play 3-on-3 games and Groups 2 & 3 will compete in 4-on-4 play.

Team Assignments will be given at check-in, please bring both light and dark jersey for the games. 

Spring League teams provide an opportunity for players to continue to play team-based hockey during the spring season.  St. Jude spring teams will participate in either the NIHL Premier Select Spring Hockey League or Northwest Hockey League (NWHL). Players are eligible to participate in Spring League teams and Tournament Team if they choose. 

Registration is required for all spring program selections. 

After an amazing NWHL hockey season we are excited to jump right into our Spring Season! The season will run from April 1st through May 29th, with each team playing 6-8 games.

• Co-Ed 8U Mites through 14U Bantams levels.   Spring begins the new age divisions so the levels will be defined as:
  • 8U Mite:  2015 & 2014 birth years
  • 10U Squirt:  2013 & 2012 birth years
  • 12U PeeWee:  2011 & 2010 birth years
  • 14U Bantam: 2009 & 2008 birth years
• Each team will have approximately 8-10 practices.
• Jersey fee of $40 for those needing a St. Jude reversible jersey  (current St. Jude players can use their 2021-22 reversible jersey if it fits and is in good condition).

Team practices will begin in late March.

Cost including placement is $450 per player; $225 per goalie

Following the success of the first ever Premier Select Fall Season, NIHL has announced they will continue the high level of play into the Spring Season! The season will run from April 1st through May 15th, with each team playing 6-8 games.

Continuing on the success of our fall PSL teams St. Jude will offer birth years teams at PeeWee and Bantam.

Eligible co-ed teams by birth year:

• PeeWee Minor 12U - 2011
• Bantam Minor 14U - 2009
• Each team will play approximately 8 games
• Each team will have approximately 8-10 team practices
• Jersey fee of $40 for those needing a St. Jude reversible jersey (current St. Jude players can use their 2021-22 reversible jersey if it fits and is in good condition).

A limited number of spots will be available for these teams.  All St. Jude spring league teams are selected on a tryout basis with teams tiered by abilities and not balanced abilities. 

Team practices will begin in late March.

Cost including placement is $450 per player; $225 per goalie.

• March 14th, 15th & 16th – NWHL Placements
• March 26th NWHL Spring League Scheduling Meeting
• April 1st NIHL PSL League Play & NWHL Spring League Play Begins
• May 15th - NIHL PSL League Play Concludes
• May 15th - NWHL Spring League Play Concludes
• June 3rd - NWHL Spring League Post Season Begins

As an alternative to Spring League Play, St. Jude will also offer Spring Tournament Teams.  Players are eligible to participate in both Spring League play and Tournament Teams if they choose. 

Registration is required for all spring program selections. 

Spring Tournament Teams provide players seeking a higher level of competition an opportunity to compete in local tournaments during the spring season.  Please note that tournament teams are highly competitive and not all players who tryout will be selected to a tournament team. 

St. Jude will sponsor tournament teams at the Mite, Squirt, PeeWee and Bantam levels and Girls Only tournament teams at the U12, U14 and U16/19 levels.

• Mites will be 2015 & 2014 birth years, Squirts will be 2013 & 2012 birth years.  PeeWees will be 2011 & 2010 birth years.  Bantams will be 2009 & 2008 birth years.
• Girls Only tournament teams at the U12, U14 and U16/19
• Each tournament team will play in 2 local tournaments.
• Each team will get at least 3-4 practices prior to each tournament.
• All participants must be willing to commit to BOTH tournaments.  Tournament team fees will not be pro-rated.

Cost is $450 per player, $225 per goalie.

All players, regardless of level, skill or regular season club, must attend spring tryouts or placements to be placed on a spring team.
