This month we are spotlighting two of our 12U Travel teams for their efforts over the holiday season.
Our 12U A1 team took up the cause Christmas Without Cancer with a special dedication to a local family whose mother is courageously battling cancer. They gathered during over the Thanksgiving holiday while at their tournament in Detroit to make blankets and seat warmers to sell, resulting in over $3,000 donated to their cause.
Our 12U A2 team took to collecting toys for the many sick children at Advocates Hope Children’s Hospital. They collected and delivered 100’s of toys to these special kids just in time for Christmas.
Both team deserve a round of applause for their efforts in supporting our community this past holiday season. Great job boys!!
December’s Knights of Honor recognition goes to our Co-Ed 10U Travel & House teams for their food drive to support the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Their digital campaign raised funds to purchase more than 2,485 meals for Chicago area families in need this holiday season. In addition they collected more than 190lbs of food which was delivered to a local food pantry just in time for Thanksgiving. Way to go Knights!
10U & 12U Girls for their work in helping feed the homeless for PADS. The girls organized and prepared 150 lunches for the homeless shelter. Awesome display of service ladies!
The 8U Travel Co-Ed teams joined efforts to help raise money and awareness to fight cancer for the "Hockey Fights Cancer" campaign. To date both teams have exceeded their initial goals and are still growing the charitable contribution. Great job guys!
This month we've chosen the 19U Lady Knights for their awareness in raising efforts for the Brain Up campaign to fight brain cancer. Earlier this month the ladies participated in a Walk/Run for the Brain Up Foundation to raise money for research to find a cure for brain cancer.
Way to go ladies, you set a great example for the younger teams in our organization. Keep up the good work!
